Create Screeners
When you login to your Ethnio account for the first time, you'll be prompted to fill out a few simple forms and upload your logo. Then you just need to get a tiny snippet of javascript on your home page, and you'll have a slick popup screener for recruiting people from your site.

Professional recruiting firms aren't cheap (up to $200 a person!). Even then, you might not end up with the best crowd of users. Would they ever even really come to your site? With Ethnio you get the real users coming to your site for real reasons.
Manage Recruits
Once you're starting to get a flood of users, you can easily flag them or reduce the rate at which your screener displays. Then you can manage your incentives and get to the real work of gathering feedback.
What the Heck-nio?
Ethnio works by disaplying a survey-like screener to your site visitors. Create your screener, place 1 line of JavaScript on any of your web pages, and watch the responses come in. Find a user with interesting responses to your interesting questions and give the a ring.
A Tiny Footprint
The screener that your visitors see is only about 10KB (and that includes your fancy logo). That's small! Even if you broke out that old 28.8 baud modem from 1994 and (courageously) surfed the 'net, it would load in the blink of an eye. For us speedsters in the 21st century, it loads pretty instantaneously.
Works with UserVue
Ethnio doesn't mind which screen sharing application you use. UserVue, GoToMeeting, Adobe Connect, Co-pilot - they're all good. Simply take a response from Ethnio, contact your potential users, and start up your whichever screen sharing app you fancy.
The Geeky Bits
Ethnio is ultimately powered by this clever little DHTML layer that appears wherever you decide to place the 1 line of JavaScript. Since Ethnio's recruiting screeners appear as a layer, they aren't blocked by browsers' pop-up blockers.
Security
Your and your users' data are protected by our secure and redundant data servers and the burliest Internet bouncers we could find. You always have the option of using a secure HTTPS recruiting screener, so your data is transmitted via 128-bit SSL encryption.
No More Screen Sharing?
We took out the screen sharing and recording features from Ethnio...for now. Until we can do a perfect job of dealing with the complex world of screen sharing, we don't want to include a feature that only works some of the time. Count on us re-introducing these features in the future.
Our Hopes
Of course, we'd rather you use Ethnio for soulful research that will radically change your product based on a meaningful understanding of the poor folks that are stuck using it in the real world. That's kind of our mantra around here.
